When can I eat a burger after oral surgery?
Normally, you should avoid solid food for just 24 hours after your oral surgery, after which it may be okay to eat it again.

Now you can start with your favorite foods like burgers or pizza; however, take care to chew it from the other side of your mouth. Chew and bite slowly so that if any stitches are still not healed properly, they don't rupture.
Are you wondering when you can eat solid food after wisdom teeth removal? It's advised to slowly introduce solid foods into your diet about seven days after your surgery.
If there is still a lot of pain after three days, a patient should delay introducing solid foods back into their diet. In most cases, a patient will be able to get back to their normal routine and diet within the first seven days following the extraction of their wisdom teeth.
Avoid meat that is hard to chew such as beef, pork, and chicken for at least a few days. Instead, eat a flaky fish or tofu. A patient can also make a vegetable soup using his or her favorite veggies and spices. Some soups like potato and carrot, are delicious when one blends them, which is even easier to eat.
Sandwiches, chips, and orange juice should all be avoided after your wisdom tooth removal, dental implant surgery, orthognathic surgery etc. Too much chewing can possibly re-open the sensitive areas of your mouth, and can cause bleeding or even infection.
You should eat only soft food for the first week: for example, soups, eggs, mashed potatoes, and meatloaf are fine. For 2 weeks (8 weeks if you had lower wisdom teeth extracted), do not eat hard, crunchy, or very chewy foods, such as European breads, pizza crust, steak or jerky, nuts, or popcorn.
DO NOT eat fried or crunchy foods with hard pieces for at least 7 days.
Although each patient is different and our surgeon will give specific recommendations according to the particular case, as a general rule, we advise patients to wait at least seven days to incorporate solid foods into their diet.
Crunchy food such as pizza, nuts, and chips should be avoided for the first 14 days for upper wisdom teeth extraction and up to 8 weeks if you had lower teeth extracted. This is because hard crunchy food easily gets lodged in the extraction site and can open up the wound.
What can I eat 5 days after full mouth extraction?
- Blended soups (easy to eat, nutrient-rich and hydrating)
- Broths (full of essential vitamins and minerals to aid recovery)
- Yogurt.
- Pudding.
- Smoothies.
- Potatoes (mashed, sweet or regular)
- Apple sauce.
- Seedless, pureed fruit.
Meat is chewy, and it's a food that requires a lot of chomping and grinding of the teeth as you eat. But as your extraction wound is healing, you want to avoid that as much as possible. You may be able to eat meat after 24 hours, but it may take several days.

The good news is, within a few hours after your surgery, you can eat normal soft foods and you will be able to consume beverages, just not with a straw. You will be able to go to Chick-Fil-A, McDonalds, Cook Out or Bojangles in about three or four days.
If you eat meat, opt for soft fish or very soft stewed chicken or lean beef. Avoid tough meats that could cause you discomfort when chewing and swallowing. For your fix of healthy fats, consider including mashed avocados and nutritious oils like olive and coconut.
Pasta that's been cooked to a very soft stage is an ideal choice after your impacted wisdom teeth removal. Mashed Potatoes: Both sweet and white potatoes are some of the easiest foods to eat after wisdom teeth removal. Top with butter, gravy, or sour cream for additional variety.
But you will even want to avoid overly crunchy foods. A great example would be tacos and nachos. The chips and shells can be too crunchy and injure the incision site.
Soft Sandwiches
Tuna Salad. Egg Salad. Thinly Sliced Deli Meat. & Cheese. Creamy Peanut Butter & Jelly.
After 7 days, you should be able to return to your usual diet. Still, it's recommended that you keep avoiding very crunchy and hot food for a few days longer. If you have any stitches, they will most likely dissolve and fall out in approximately a week, so you don't have to go and get them removed.

Can I eat pancakes after tooth extraction?
You can even eat pancakes! They're light, fluffy, and easy on your extraction sites (Tip: you can make breads even easier to chew by letting them sit in your mouth for a few seconds and softening them with your saliva). Pasta is totally doable if you prepare it right.
